Mixografia is pleased to participate in the IFPDA Fine Art Print Fair and Print Month 2020, exclusively online via Artsy from October 7 – November 1, 2020.
Mixografia presents a selection of artworks by Louise Bourgeois, Jacob Hashimoto, and Analia Saban. The editions on view highlight the various ways in which artists embrace textile as a form of mark-making. Louise Bourgeois’ scarlet crochet patterns are themselves webs of complexity, woven symmetries set in low relief against a backdrop of handmade paper. Analia Saban’s Dry Clean Only suite elevates the material nuances of objects created in a framework of mass production and global commerce; they are worn and torn, demonstrating a life beyond their pure functionality. Jacob Hashimoto makes use of thread in his recent series Histories to convey rhythm, motion, and gravity, their orderly chaos composed over constellations of hand-crafted bamboo kites and workshop scraps.
This year marks the first ever hybrid online/in-person edition of the IFPDA Fine Art Print Fair, and Mixografia is pleased to welcome visitors for virtual tours and socially distanced gallery visits by appointment. |
