In addition to printing and publishing fine art prints, Mixografia also produces sculptures using a variety of techniques.
The workshop houses casting facilities, which are used to produce extremely detailed copper bas-relief sculptures. The copper casting technique allows the artist to create a model of the sculpture from nearly any material, which will be reproduced to the exact detail in copper. The artist may choose to treat the finished sculpture with chemicals in order to achieve a certain patina, a coloration that develops on the surface of the metal.
The workshop also produces sculptures through fabrication, which refers to the assembly of materials using various techniques. The workshop will often experiment with different materials and techniques until the artist is satisfied and the result reflects their concept and creative vision. To date, we have produced artworks through welding, assembly, resin casting and woodwork, using materials that include bamboo, carbon fiber, metals, resin, wood, soil and metal hardware.
