Los Angeles, CA (January 2019) – Mixografía is pleased to participate in the 10 th edition of Art Los Angeles Contemporary, taking place during an event-filled week of art in Los Angeles. The fair will run from Wednesday, February 13th through Sunday February 17th at The Barker Hangar (3021 Airport Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90405). We will feature recent editions by John Baldessari and Alex Israel, and a selection of artworks by Jacob Hashimoto, Jason Martin, Ed Ruscha, and Analia Saban.
Mixografia is excited to present a booth that celebrates LA’s leading position within the international sphere of contemporary art. The display will focus on a lineage of experimentation in the city’s cultural history, exemplified by John Baldessari’s and Ed Ruscha’s contributions to contemporary art and their lasting impact on generations of conceptual artists, such as Analia Saban and Alex Israel.
The 10th anniversary of Art Los Angeles Contemporary brings its longstanding commitment to recognize the vital role of Los Angeles within the global art community. Along with this, the fair will present a reimagined floor layout and two new exhibiting sections, “Moveable Types” and “The Academy”, highlighting leading publishers and emerging galleries. Of this forward vision, ALAC’s founder and director Tim Fleming explains:
“After ten years, I recognize the impact we have made locally and internationally […] Our 10th anniversary is a chance for us to recommit to who we are: content-forward, trusted but inventive, international and LA. Our work is really about putting together the best program of established and emerging galleries, to show off the best of LA and around the globe. We feel spoiled by the number of visionaries we get to collaborate with, from new galleries with audacious programming to respected partners we’ve worked with from ALAC’s beginning a decade ago.”
